What is Portrait?
One story per screen. Each story is a brief written from the public feeds of Québec and Canadian outlets, with links to every outlet that covered it. Portrait does not republish articles: it leads to them.
How it works
- Swipe up: the next story. Tap the picture: the outlet's article, in Safari.
- Press and hold a card: "Dig in", the feed follows that story; slide while holding to set how deep.
- Near me (in the sections): what is being read around you, from a position rounded to about 5 km. Without location allowed, the section says so.
- Map: the reads around you, on the map.
- Sources: choose the outlets and the share of French and English.
- The magnifier: search headlines and briefs.
- The audio button: mute, the device's voice reading the brief, or the video's sound.
- Paper: the same feed, as reading cards.
Something wrong?
- The feed does not load. Check the network; the server publishes new stories every 20 minutes.
- A video does not play. It comes from the outlet's channel; when it does not start, the picture takes its place.
- Near me is empty. Location is not allowed (Settings › Portrait › Location), or few readers are around you today.
